On the cryptic colouration

On the cryptic colouration of the deserted meatworks
The fugitive stench of burnt flesh/ forces its way through the barely/ open windows – a barbecue/ in the yard behind the fence.// I think of you swimming/ at Coogee, of my driving/ through the eyes of Ocean Beach Road/ and being blinded by the steely cut/ of the reflective sea,/ regaining my bearings/ thorugh focussing/ on the cryptic/ colouration/ of the deserted meatworks.
