there is ice where the stranded ship

Hacen señas inconfundibles:
se pasan la mano por la garganta.
No olvido: no hay sombras ni humo,
hay hielo donde el barco varado
se hamaca con los vientos polares.
No hay sombra: hay claridad sobre el hielo.
Se pasan la mano por la garganta.
Es inútil: no hablo.
No podría hablar de nada, sólo del barco,
del barco imaginario.
De ninguna otra cosa nada más que del barco.

The best of contemporary Argentinian music, literature and film will form part of the Argentina Now! – the first Dublin Argentinian Culture Week. The programme has been curated by the poet and arts editor, Jorge Fondebrider in Buenos Aires in co-operation with Sinéad Mac Aodha, Director of Ireland Literature Exchange in Dublin.
