Frank O'Hara / Dos poemas

Autobiografía literaria

Cuando era un niño
jugaba conmigo mismo en un
rincón del patio escolar,
completamente solo.

Odiaba las muñecas y
odiaba los juegos, los animales
no eran amistosos y los pájaros
volaban lejos.

Si alguien me buscaba,
me escondía detrás de un
árbol y gritaba "Soy
un huérfano."

Y aquí estoy, ¡el
centro de toda belleza!
¡escribiendo estos poemas!
¡Imaginate!

Desayuno melancólico

Desayuno melancólico
triste por arriba triste por abajo

El huevo piensa en silencio
y la oreja de la tostadora
eléctrica espera

las estrellas están en
"esa nube está oculta"

los elementos de la incredulidad son
muy fuertes a la mañana

Frank O'Hara (Baltimore, 1926-Fire Island, Nueva York, 1966)
Versiones de J. Aulicino

Autobiographia Literaria
When I was a child / I played by myself in a / corner of the schoolyard / all alone. // I hated dolls and I / hated games, animals were / not friendly and birds / flew away. // If anyone was looking / for me I hid behind a / tree and cried out "I am / an orphan." // And here I am, the / center of all beauty! / writing these poems! / Imagine!

Melancholy Breakfast
Melancholy breakfast / blue overhead blue underneath // the silent egg thinks / and the toaster's electrical / ear waits // the stars are in / "that cloud is hid" / the elements of disbelief are / very strong in the morning
