Iris Tree / Somos los guardianes















Somos los guardianes de casas vacías,
La luna apoya su delgado cuerpo contra la puerta,
Pero el óxido hace chirriar la cerradura.
El sol mira a través de la ventana,
Pero los postigos cerrados son como ojos ciegos.
Nuestras almas están llenas de muerte y cosas maravillosas
Como cuencos llenos de objetos,
Un polvo de pétalos
Susurra entre los cansados dedos de un fantasma.

WE ARE THE CARETAKERS...

We are the caretakers of empty houses, 
The moon leans her slender body against the door, 
But the lock, is jarred with rust. 
The sun looks in through the window, 
But its closed shutters are as blinded eyes. 
Our souls are full of dead and beautiful things 
Like bowls of potpourri, 
A dust of petals 
Rustling through the tired fingers of a ghost.
